S.B. 685

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Business Occupations and Professions

8.5-602.

Subject to the evaluation and reestablishment provisions of the Maryland Program,
Evaluation Act, this title and all regulations adopted under this title shall terminate and
be of no effect after July 1, [1997] 2004.

Article - State Government

8-403.

(g) Except as otherwise provided in subsection (e) of this section, on or before
July 1, [1996] 2003, an evaluation shall be made of the State Board of Certified Interior
Designers established under the Business Occupations and Professions Article and the
regulations that relate to the State Board of Certified Interior Designers.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1994.

Dear Mr. President:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, I have today
vetoed Senate Bill 685.

This bill would extend the termination date of the State Board of Public Accountancy
from July 1, 1994 to July 1, 2004.

House Bill 1483, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me on May 2,
1994, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate
Bill 685.
