In subsection (d) of this section, the reference to "a member whose eligibility
service has been adjusted under this Division II to compute creditable service"
is added for clarity.

The second sentences of former Art. 73B, §§ 4-303(b), 5-303(b), 8-303(b),
and 10-214(b) are deleted as unnecessary given the reference added to the
adjustment of eligibility service added to subsection (d) of this section.

20-206. CREDIT FOR UNUSED SICK LEAVE.

(A)     "UNUSED SICK LEAVE" DEFINED.

IN THIS SECTION, "UNUSED SICK LEAVE" MEANS SICK LEAVE CREDIT THAT HAS
NOT BEEN USED BEFORE RETIREMENT.

(B)      SCOPE OF SECTION.

THIS SECTION DOES NOT APPLY TO:

(1) THE JUDGES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM; OR
(2) THE LEGISLATIVE PENSION PLAN.

(C)      IN GENERAL.

A MEMBER IS ENTITLED TO RECEIVE CREDITABLE SERVICE FOR UNUSED SICK
LEAVE AS PROVIDED IN THIS SECTION.

(D)     APPLICABILITY OF CREDIT.

(1)      AT RETIREMENT, A MEMBER IS ENTITLED TO RECEIVE CREDITABLE
SERVICE FOR UNUSED SICK LEAVE, ON VERIFICATION OF THE UNUSED SICK LEAVE
TO THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES.

(2)      (I) THIS SUBSECTION DOES NOT APPLY TO THE LOCAL FIRE AND
POLICE SYSTEM OR THE NATURAL RESOURCES PENSION SYSTEM.
