(House Bill 747)

AN ACT concerning

Queen Anne's County and Kent County - Legalized Gaming - Regulation

FOR the purpose of authorizing the County Commissioners of Queen Anne's County and
Kent County to issue multiple gaming device permits and raffle permits to certain
organizations; authorizing the County Commissioners to adopt regulations and
establish fees concerning gaming permits; authorizing denial of a permit under
certain circumstances; restricting the number of multiple gaming device permits an
organization may obtain in a year; restricting, subject to a certain waiver, the length
of certain fund-raisers; restricting the location of certain fund-raisers; requiring
that a certain percentage of the proceeds from certain fund-raisers be used for
specified purposes; specifying certain requirements concerning responsibility for a
fund-raiser and concerning who can manage or operate a fund-raiser; prohibiting
compensation for the management or operation of a gaming activity under a permit;
restricting the length of certain raffles; requiring an organization that is issued a
permit to report certain information; establishing a criminal penalty; defining
certain terms; clarifying that slot machines in Queen. Anne's County and Kent
County are regulated under other statutory provisions; repealing another statutory
provision that applies in Kent County; eliminating the application of other statutory
provisions concerning gaming in Queen Anne's County and Kent County; making
this Act an emergency measure; and generally relating to the regulation of gaming
in Queen Anne's County and Kent County.
