(e) Any volunteer or paid fire company or rescue squad may consider the
existence of a criminal conviction in determining whether or not an applicant will be
appointed or employed.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 1994.

AN ACT concerning

Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission - Taxation - Procedure

PG/MC 15-94

FOR the purpose of requiring that certain taxes levied to support the Maryland-National
Capital Park and Planning Commission be levied and collected in the same manner,
have the same priority rights, bear the same interest and penalties, and be treated in
all respects as county taxes; clarifying that certain taxes levied to support the
Commission are not subject to any limitation on the tax rate or tax revenues of a
county Prince George's County; providing an exception to certain limitation periods
applicable to the filing of property tax refund claims for certain taxes levied to
support the Commission that have been erroneously or mistakenly levied against
certain property excluded by law from the Maryland Washington Regional District
in certain municipal corporations; prohibiting the payment of interest on certain
property tax refund claims for beyond a certain time period; requiring that certain
notice of certain refund rights be provided by the Director of Finance for Prince
G
eorge's County, by the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning
Commission, and by the Department of Assessments and Taxation; and generally
relating to certain taxes levied to support the Maryland-National Capital Park and
Planning Commission.
