AN ACT concerning
Health Insurance - Coverage for Dependents of Employees
FOR the purpose of providing that, to be covered under certain health benefit plans
offered by a carrier, certain employers must agree to offer health care coverage to
any dependents of an employee and agree to collect premium payments from the
employee through payroll deductions and transmit those premium payments to the
carrier; requiring carriers to include the requirements of this Act in their sales and
solicitation literature; applying the changes under this Act to the small employer
insurance market, and, if certain contingencies occur, to the large employer
insurance market to the extent that the State may regulate those employers; and
generally relating to the offering of insurance benefits to dependents of certain
employees in the State.
