(2) ANY CIVILIAN EMPLOYEE OF THE MARYLAND STATE POLICE OR OF
THE MARYLAND TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY POLICE FORCE ASSIGNED TO
ENFORCE THIS PART IV OF THIS SUBTITLE OR ANY RULE OR REGULATION ADOPTED
UNDER THIS PART IV OF THIS SUBTITLE, BUT ONLY WHILE ACTING UNDER WRITTEN
AUTHORIZATION OF THE SUPERINTENDENT OF THE MARYLAND STATE POLICE.

(B) (1) SUBJECT TO THE PROVISIONS OF PARAGRAPH (2) OF THIS
SUBSECTION, ANY POLICE OFFICER SHALL HAVE THE AUTHORITY TO ENFORCE THIS
PART IV OF THIS SUBTITLE AND ANY RULE OR REGULATION ADOPTED UNDER IT.

(2) A CIVILIAN EMPLOYEE OF THE MARYLAND TRANSPORTATION
AUTHORITY POLICE FORCE SHALL HAVE THE AUTHORITY STATED IN PARAGRAPH
(1) OF THIS SUBSECTION ONLY IF THE INDIVIDUAL IS:

(I) ACTING UNDER THE IMMEDIATE DIRECTION AND CONTROL
OF A UNIFORMED POLICE OFFICER; AND

(II) CERTIFIED BY THE MARYLAND STATE POLICE TO ENFORCE
THIS PART IV OF THIS SUBTITLE AND ANY RULE OR REGULATION ADOPTED UNDER
IT.

Article - Transportation

4-208.

(a)     There is a Maryland Transportation Authority Police Force.

(b)      (1) A Maryland Transportation Authority police officer has all the powers
granted to a peace officer and a police officer of this State.

(2)      However, the Maryland Transportation Authority police officer may
exercise these powers only on:

(I) [property] PROPERTY owned, leased, or operated by or under the
control of the MARYLAND TRANSPORTATION Authority AND THE MARYLAND
AVIATION ADMINISTRATION; AND

(II) PROPERTY LOCATED WITHIN 1 MILE OF ANY BOUNDARY OF
MARYLAND AVIATION ADMINISTRATION PROPERTY
.

(3)      The police officer may not exercise these powers on any other property
unless:

(i) Engaged in fresh pursuit of a suspected offender;

(ii) Specially requested or permitted to do so in a political subdivision
by its chief executive officer or its chief police officer;

(iii) Specially requested or permitted to do so on property owned,
leased, or operated by or under the control of the Maryland Port Administration by its
chief police officer; [or]
