SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 1994.

(House Bill 624)

AN ACT concerning

Transportation - Law Enforcement

FOR the purpose of authorizing certain civilian employees of the Maryland State Police
and the Maryland Transportation Authority to enforce certain provisions of law
under certain circumstances; authorizing the Superintendent of the Maryland State
Police to designate certain civilian employees to enforce certain sections of the
Code
provisions of law; defining certain terms; altering certain definitions;
expanding the jurisdictional authority of the Maryland Transportation Authority
Police Force to include certain properties and facilities; transferring certain airport
police personnel to the Maryland Transportation Authority Police Force;
prohibiting the diminution of salaries for certain employees under certain
circumstances; requiring the retention of certain pension coverage for certain
employees; authorizing certain employees to issue certain citations and requiring
the chief police officer of the Maryland Transportation Authority Police Force to
adopt certain regulations; abolishing the category of airport police employees within
the Maryland State Police; repealing certain references to the State aviation police
force; correcting certain references; repealing certain authority of the Maryland
State Police to perform certain law enforcement duties on certain property; and
generally relating to the consolidation of law enforcement services of the Maryland
Transportation Authority and the Maryland Aviation Administration and the
enforcement authority of civilian code enforcement personnel of the Maryland State
Police and the Maryland Transportation Authority.
