Ch. 548                                        1994 LAWS OF MARYLAND .

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - State Personnel and Pensions

27-402.                                 

(b) (1) This subsection applies only to a retiree who is a master in chancery or
juvenile causes at the time of termination of service.

(2)      Subject to subsections (c) and (d) of this section, on retirement under
this subtitle, a retiree is entitled to receive a retirement allowance that equals:

(I)      two-thirds of the salary payable at the time of termination of
service[,]; OR

(II)     FOR A RETIREE WHO WAS RECEIVING A RETIREMENT
ALLOWANCE AS OF JUNE 30, 1993, THE RETIREMENT ALLOWANCE BEING RECEIVED
AS OF THAT DATE.

(3)      A RETIREMENT ALLOWANCE COMPUTED UNDER PARAGRAPH (2) OF
THIS SUBSECTION SHALL BE increased each fiscal year that circuit court judges receive
salary increases, at a rate equal to the average, rate of increase of salaries of all circuit
court judges for that fiscal year.

SECTION 2, AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 1994.

AN ACT concerning

Automobile Warranty Enforcement - Excise Tax

FOR the purpose of prohibiting specifying the amount of excise tax a motor vehicle
dealer from collecting any excise tax may collect from a consumer for a replacement
motor vehicle when a motor vehicle is replaced under certain provisions of law
relating to automobile warranty enforcement; requiring the Motor Vehicle
Administration to allow a credit against the excise tax imposed for a replacement
vehicle in the amount of the excise tax paid for the vehicle being replaced a certain
amount under certain circumstances; allowing a refund of certain excise taxes in
certain circumstances; and generally relating to the motor vehicle excise tax and
automobile warranty enforcement.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
