not privileged communications; increasing a certain penalty for a violation of this

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article 27 - Crimes and Punishments
286E.
(A) EXCEPT AS AUTHORIZED BY THIS SUBHEADING, A PERSON MAY NOT
KNOWINGLY:
(1) POSSESS, PASS, UTTER, MAKE, OR MANUFACTURE A FALSE, FORGED,
OR ALTERED PRESCRIPTION FOR A CONTROLLED DANGEROUS SUBSTANCE OR
CONTROLLED PARAPHERNALIA; OR
(2) PROCURE OR ATTEMPT TO PROCURE THE ADMINISTRATION OF A
CONTROLLED DANGEROUS SUBSTANCE BY THE FORGERY OR ALTERATION OF A
PRESCRIPTION.
(B) INFORMATION COMMUNICATED TO AN AUTHORIZED PRESCRIBER IN AN
EFFORT TO OBTAIN CONTROLLED DANGEROUS SUBSTANCES OR CONTROLLED
PARAPHERNALIA IN VIOLATION OF THE PROVISIONS OF THIS SECTION SHALL NOT
BE DEEMED A PRIVILEGED COMMUNICATION.
