(B) IN ADDITION TO ANY OTHER ACTIVITIES WHICH MAY CONSTITUTE
DOING BUSINESS IN THIS STATE, FOR THE PURPOSES OF THIS SUBTITLE ANY
FOREIGN LIMITED LIABILITY PARTNERSHIP WHICH OWNS INCOME PRODUCING
REAL OR TANGIBLE PERSONAL PROPERTY IN THIS STATE, OTHER THAN PROPERTY
EXEMPTED BY SUBSECTION (A) OF THIS SECTION, SHALL BE CONSIDERED TO BE
DOING BUSINESS IN THIS STATE.

BY DOING INTRASTATE, INTERSTATE, OR FOREIGN BUSINESS IN THIS STATE, A
FOREIGN LIMITED LIABILITY PARTNERSHIP ASSENTS TO THE LAWS OF THIS STATE.

9-911.

WITH RESPECT TO A CAUSE OF ACTION ON WHICH A FOREIGN LIMITED
LIABILITY PARTNERSHIP WOULD NOT OTHERWISE BE SUBJECT TO SUIT IN THIS
STATE, COMPLIANCE WITH THIS SUBTITLE:

(1)      DOES NOT OF ITSELF RENDER A FOREIGN LIMITED LIABILITY
PARTNERSHIP SUBJECT TO SUIT IN THIS STATE; AND

(2)      IS NOT CONSIDERED AS CONSENT BY IT TO BE SUED IN THIS STATE.
10-102.

(a) The name of each limited partnership as set forth in its certificate:

(4) May not be the same as or misleadingly similar to:

(i) The name of any corporation [or], limited partnership, OR
LIMITED LIABILITY PARTNERSHIP, organized under the laws of the State of Maryland;

(ii) The name of any foreign corporation [or], foreign limited
partnership, OR FOREIGN LIMITED LIABILITY PARTNERSHIP registered or qualified to
do business in the State of Maryland; or

(iii) Any name which is reserved or registered under § 2-107, § 4A-209,
§ 4A-1002, § 7-101, § 10-103, or § 10-904, or recorded under § 1-406 of this article.

SECTION 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That if any provision of this
Act or the application thereof to any person or circumstance is held invalid for any reason
in a court of competent jurisdiction, the invalidity does not affect other provisions or any
other application of this Act which can be given effect without the invalid provision or
application, and for this purpose the provisions of this Act are declared severable.

SECTION 5. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 1994.
