Ch. 458

5-1201.

(f) "Noise zone" means an area of land surrounding the airport within which the
cumulative noise exposure is equal to or greater than the lowest limit for cumulative noise
exposure established by the [Administrator] EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, under Subtitle 8
of this title.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the terms of the initial
members of the Maryland Aviation Commission shall expire as follows:

(1)     3 members in 1997;

(2)     3 members in 1996; and

(3)     2 members in 1995.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED. That nothing in this Act shall be
construed to limit or restrict the Maryland Aviation Commission's future exploration of
inclusion, or legislative or executive branch directed involvement in another regional
commission or authority.

SECTION 3. 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect October 1, 1994.

(House Bill 410)

AN ACT concerning

State Police - Statewide DNA Data Base System and Repository

FOR the purpose of creating a statewide DNA data base system and repository within the
Crime Laboratory Division of the Maryland State Police; establishing the system
and repository as the State's central location for all DNA samples and testing
information collected under this Act; requiring the Director of the Crime
Laboratory to adopt certain rules and consult with the Superintendent of the
Maryland State Police on the adoption of certain regulations; requiring the
Superintendent to adopt certain regulations under certain circumstances; specifying
that any regulations adopted contain certain restrictions and conditions; specifying
that certain persons convicted of certain crimes shall provide a DNA sample under
certain circumstances; establishing the procedures to be followed in the taking of a
DNA sample; specifying that only certain persons may collect a DNA sample;
providing for immunity from civil liability for certain persons who take DNA
samples under certain circumstances;
specifying the purposes for which DNA
samples shall be tested; providing for the storage of DNA samples and DNA
identification characteristics; providing for the security of DNA samples and DNA
typing results stored in the repository and data base system; establishing certain
