the authorization of the Governor, to establish an Advisory Committee on Black
Males; requiring the Office to report its findings and recommendations; and
generally relating to the duties and authority of the Office of Minority Affairs
concerning issues pertinent to black males.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article 41—Governor—Executive and Administrative Departments
18-306.
(A) THERE IS A GOVERNOR'S COMMISSION ON BLACK MALES.
(B) THE COMMISSION SHALL CONSIST OF 17 MEMBERS, INCLUDING:
(1) THREE MEMBERS OF THE MARYLAND HOUSE OF DELEGATES,
APPOINTED BY THE SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE;
(2) THREE MEMBERS OF THE SENATE OF MARYLAND, APPOINTED BY
THE PRESIDENT OF THE SENATE;
(3) TWO MEMBERS FROM THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION,
APPOINTED BY THE STATE SUPERINTENDENT OF EDUCATION;
(4) TWO MEMBERS FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND MENTAL
HYGIENE, APPOINTED BY THE SECRETARY OF HEALTH AND MENTAL HYGIENE;
(5) TWO MEMBERS FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY AND
CORRECTIONS, APPOINTED BY THE SECRETARY OF PUBLIC SAFETY AND
CORRECTIONS;
(6) TWO MEMBERS FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMIC AND
EMPLOYMENT DEVELOPMENT, APPOINTED BY THE SECRETARY OF ECONOMIC AND
EMPLOYMENT DEVELOPMENT;
