Ch. 440

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Section(s) 2-313(h), (i),
and (j), respectively, of Article 83B - Department of Housing and Community
Development of the Annotated Code of Maryland be renumbered to be Section(s)
2-313(g), (h), and (i), respectively.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1994.

(House Bill 1480)

AN ACT concerning

Medical Assistance Program - Family Planning Program

FOR the purpose of providing family planning services to postpartum women who lose
eligibility for Medical Assistance under the Pregnant Women and Children's
Program; and generally relating to family planning services.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Section 15-103(a)
Annotated Code of Maryland
(1994 Replacement Volume)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Health - General

15-103.

(a) (1) The Secretary shall administer the Maryland Medical Assistance
Program.

(2) The Program:

(i) Shall provide comprehensive medical and other health care for
indigent individuals or medically indigent individuals or both;

(ii) Shall provide, subject to the limitations of the State budget and the
availability of federal funds, comprehensive medical and other health care for all
pregnant women and, at a minimum, all children currently under the age of 1 whose
family income falls below 185 percent of the poverty level, as permitted by the federal
law;
