WILLIAM DONALD SCHAEFER, Governor Ch. 422 Approved May 2, 1994. CHAPTER 422 AN ACT concerning Legal Holiday - Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday - Federal Observance FOR the purpose of providing that a certain State legal holiday shall be observed on a BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments, Annotated Code of Maryland SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF Article 1 - Rules of Interpretation 27. (a) In this Code and any rule, regulation, or directive adopted under it, "legal (1) January 1, for New Year's Day; (2) January 15, for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s birthday, UNLESS THE (3) February 12, for Lincoln's birthday; (4) The third Monday in February, for Washington's birthday; (5) March 25, for Maryland Day; (6) Good Friday; (7) May 30, for Memorial Day, unless the United States Congress designates (8) July 4, for Independence Day; (9) The first Monday in September, for Labor Day; - 2087 -
