Article - Courts and Judicial Proceedings

5-302.

(a) In this section, "the Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services
Systems" means the [State Emergency Services Program] AGENCY described in [§
13-103] § 13-1D-03 of the Education Article.

10-205.

(a)     In this section, "the Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services
Systems" means the State [emergency services program] AGENCY described in [§
13-103(c)] § 13-1D-03 of the Education Article.

Article - Education

12-101.

(b)     In this title the following words have the meanings indicated.

(5) "Centers" or "Institutes" means the following components of the
University under the jurisdiction of the Board of Regents:

(i) Center for Environmental and Estuarine Studies;

(ii) Cooperative Extension Service and the Agricultural Experiment
Station;

(iii) [Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services Systems,
provided that the patient care or clinical component of the Institute shall be governed by
the Board of Directors of the Medical System Corporation in accordance with § 13-103(f)
of this article;

(iv)] Statewide Medical Education and Training System;

[(v)](IV) Fire and Rescue Institute; and

[(vi)] (V) Any other center, component, or institute established and
operated by the University in accordance with its mission.

[13-103.1.] 13-1D-15.

(a) (1) In this section the following words have the meanings indicated.

(2)     "Ambulance" means any vehicle designed and constructed or modified
and equipped to be used, maintained, or operated for the transportation of individuals
who are sick, injured, wounded, or otherwise incapacitated.

(3)     (i) "Ambulance service" means any individual, firm, partnership,
corporation, association, or organization engaged in the business of transporting by
ambulance individuals who are sick, injured, wounded, or otherwise incapacitated.
