Article - Estates and Trusts

2-108.

(g) [(1)]Each of the judges of the court for Caroline County shall receive an
annual salary of [$1,850] $3,500.

[(2) Each judge shall also be allowed $750 annually for expenses.]

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That, notwithstanding Section 1
of this Act, the salary levels specified Chapter 87, Acts of 1982 (Orphans' Court judges),
Chapter 466, Acts of 1982 (Board of License Commissioners), Chapter 407, Acts of 1987,
(Board of Supervisors of Elections), Chapter 254, Acts of 1989 (County Treasurer),
Chapter 73, Acts of 1990 (State's Attorney) and Chapter 775, Acts of 1989 (Sheriff), shall
remain in effect for the remainder of the current terms.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That, pursuant to Article III,
Section 35 of the Constitution of Maryland, this Act may not be construed to extend or
apply to the salary or compensation of the judges of the Orphans' Court, members of the
Board of Supervisors of Elections, members of the Board of License Commissioners, the
Sheriff, the State's Attorney, or the Treasurer of Caroline County in office on the
effective date of this Act, but the provisions of this Act concerning the salary or
compensation of the Caroline County Orphans' Court judges, Board of Supervisors of
Elections, Board of License Commissioners, Sheriff, State's Attorney, and Treasurer shall
take effect at the beginning of the next following term of office.

SECTION 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 1994.

AN ACT concerning

Caroline County - Personal Property Tax - Exemption

FOR the purpose of adding Caroline County to the counties in which certain personal
property used in a commercial, manufacturing, or professional business may be
exempt from property tax when authorized by the governing body of the county; and
providing for the effective date of this Act.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
