1-301.
(1) The County Commissioners may lease, sell, at either public or private sale,
and convey or otherwise dispose of and convey any [real estate or] interest in real estate
[now] held [or owned or acquired in the future] by the County Commissioners and no
longer needed for public use. The intent to [lease,] sell, dispose of, or convey, except in
the case of a conveyance made between the county and any federal, state or local
government, shall be advertised in a newspaper [having] OF general distribution in the
county, once a week for 3 successive weeks. THE INTENT TO LEASE REAL PROPERTY
SHALL BE ADVERTISED AT LEAST ONCE IN A NEWSPAPER OF GENERAL
DISTRIBUTION IN THE COUNTY.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 1994.

AN ACT concerning
Caroline County - Miscellaneous Officials - Compensation
FOR the purpose of altering the compensation of the chairman, associate members, and
substitute members of the Caroline County Board of License Commissioners;
altering the salary of the State's Attorney for Caroline County; repealing certain
provisions concerning staff of the State's Attorney's Office; prohibiting the State's
Attorney from engaging in the private practice of law; altering the salary of the
Caroline County Treasurer; altering the salaries of the Board of Supervisors of
Elections of Caroline County; providing that members of the Board of Supervisors
of Elections are entitled to certain expense reimbursement; altering the salary of
the Sheriff for Caroline County; eliminating authority for the County
Commissioners to alter the Sheriff's salary; eliminating certain provisions affecting
the Sheriff's Office and providing that the Sheriff may hire personnel in accordance
with the County budget; eliminating a specified expense allowance for members of
the Caroline County Board of Education and substituting an alternative amount as
compensation; altering the specified expense allowance for members of the
Caroline County Board of Education; altering the salary of the judges of the
Orphans' Court of Caroline County; eliminating a specified expense allowance for
the judges; providing that this Act does not apply to the salary or compensation of
certain incumbent officials; making stylistic changes; and generally relating to the
compensation levels of various officials and the operation of certain officials' offices
in Caroline County.
