(c) (1) The Sheriff of Anne Arundel County shall receive a salary [of $12,000]
THAT IS 73 PERCENT OF THE SALARY RECEIVED BY THE STATE'S ATTORNEY OF
ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY OF:

(I)     $44,500 IN CALENDAR YEAR 1995;

(II)    $45,900 IN CALENDAR YEAR 1996;

(III)   $47,300 IN CALENDAR YEAR 1997: AND

(IV)   $48,700 IN CALENDAR YEAR 1998 AND THEREAFTER.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, that, pursuant to Article III,
Section 35 of the Constitution of Maryland, this Act may not be construed to extend or
apply to the salary or compensation of the Sheriff of Anne Arundel County in office on
the effective date of this Act, but the provisions of this Act concerning the salary or
compensation of the Sheriff of Anne Arundel County shall take effect at the beginning of
the next following term of office.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 1994.

AN ACT concerning

Charles County - State's Attorney - Salary

FOR the purpose of altering the salary of the State's Attorney of Charles' County to
certain amounts; repealing the current formula used for determining the salary of
the State's Attorney of Charles County; providing that this Act does hot apply to the
salary or compensation of the incumbent State's Attorney of Charles County; and
generally relating to the State's Attorney of Charles County.
