AN ACT concerning

Vehicle Laws - Required Security - Verification

FOR the purpose of repealing the requirement that a person attending a certain
conference or hearing submit evidence of security for any vehicle registered in the
person's name; repealing the requirement that a person issued a certain safety
equipment repair order submit proof that the vehicle was covered by the required
security; defining certain terms; and generally relating to the enforcement of the
required security laws in Maryland.

SECTION ). BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND. That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

17-101.

(A)     In this subtitle[, "required security"] THE FOLLOWING WORDS HAVE THE
MEANINGS INDICATED.

(B)     "REQUIRED SECURITY" means security in the form and providing for the
minimum benefits required under this subtitle or any other provisions of the Maryland
Vehicle Law.

(C) "LAPSE" AND "TERMINATION" MEAN A LAPSE OR TERMINATION OF
REQUIRED SECURITY, AS DEFINED IN REGULATIONS ADOPTED BY THE
ADMINISTRATION.
