AN ACT concerning

Vehicle Laws - Registration Fees - Refunds

FOR the purpose of clarifying the provisions under which certain motor vehicle
registration fees may be refunded; establishing that a person is entitled to a refund
of a certain portion of a certain registration fee under certain circumstances; and
generally relating to the refund of registration fees.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

13-938.

If registration plates issued for a vehicle registered under this part have never been
used, the owner of the vehicle for which the plates were issued is entitled to a refund of
the MARYLAND registration fee paid less an administrative fee established by the
Administration if, during the registration year for which the registration plates were
issued, the owner:

(1)     Applies to the Administration for a refund; and

(2)     Surrenders to the Administration:

(i) The registration card issued for the vehicle; and

(ii) The unused registration plates.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 1994.
