DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY AND
CORRECTIONAL SERVICES

The Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services shall
submit quarterly reports, beginning July 1, 1994, on the status of
any capital projects having a proposed programmatic change which
will result in an increase of:

(1)     7.5% or more of the project cost estimate approved by the
General Assembly at the time funds for that project were
approved; and/or

(2)    5% or more of the gross square footage approved by the
General Assembly at the time funds for that project were
approved.

No increase in excess of 7.5% of a total project's cost or 5% of a
total projects's project's gross square footage may be approved or
implemented prior to review and comment by the budget
committees, or the passage of 45 days from the receipt of the
quarterly report containing the proposed modification(s).

35.02.01              DIVISION OF CORRECTION - HEADQUARTERS

(A) New Medium Security Correctional Facility. Provide a fund to
design, construct, and equip a new medium security facility-
Provided that expenditure for any of the following projects may not
exceed the amount listed below for that project by more than 7.5%
without notification of the General Assembly (Allegany County):.
