(f) (1) A contract or certificate issued to a member or subscriber by a health
maintenance organization that provides health care benefits and services for diseases may
not discriminate against any person with a mental illness by failing to provide health care
benefits and services for treatment and diagnosis of mental illness that the Commissioner
determines are generally available under §§ 354 and 490V of Article 48A of the Code.

DRAFTER'S NOTE:

Error: As enacted, § 19-703(f)(1) contained a cross-reference to § 490R, but
because of prior enactments the cross-reference to § 490R in that section was'
re-designated by the Michie Company as § 490V.

Occurred: As a result of Chs. 9, 41, 285, 392, and 633, Acts of 1993. Correction
by the Michie Company in the 1993 Cumulative Supplement, of the
Health - General Article is validated by this Act.

19-705.1.

(b) The standards of quality of care shall include:

maintenance organization is used, the health maintenance organization shall:
