(House Bill 421)
AN ACT concerning
Maryland Tourism Development - Funding
FOR the purpose of requiring the Comptroller to distribute a portion of the sales and use
tax revenue Governor to include in the annual Budget Bill for certain fiscal years
certain minimum appropriations to the Maryland Tourism Development Board
Fund; restricting to certain purposes the use of certain amounts distributed to the
Fund; requiring the Governor to include in the annual Budget Bill for certain fiscal
years certain minimum general funds appropriation's for tourism development in the
Department of Economic and Employment Development; requiring a certain
portion of the budget of the Office of Tourism Development to be spent for Certain
purposes; restricting the use of certain funds appropriated to the Office; requiring
certain annual reports to the Legislative Policy Committee of the General
Assembly; providing for the termination of this Act; and generally relating to the
Maryland Tourism Development Board Fund and the funding of tourism
development in the State;
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Preamble
WHEREAS, The 1993 Maryland General Assembly, recognizing the value and
importance of pursuing a more aggressive policy for the development of tourism in
Maryland, enacted Chapter 625 of the Acts of 1993 (House Bill 1590), which:
