(b) For the one [(1)] member who is a member of the Charles County
Board of County Commissioners, a term of four [(4)] years, to be filled on whatever time
basis the County Commissioners so choose, but only while the County Commissioner is
serving a term of office in that capacity.
(c) For the one [(1)] member who is elected by the Charles County
Volunteer Firemen's Association, a one-year term beginning [July 1, 1988; thereafter,
the member shall serve for a four-year term beginning on July 1, 1989] JANUARY 1, 1995,
AND EACH JANUARY 1ST THEREAFTER.
(d) For the one [(1)] member who is elected by the Charles County
Association of Emergency Medical Services, a [two-year] ONE-YEAR term beginning
[July 1, 1988; thereafter, the member shall serve for a four-year term beginning on July
1, 1990] JANUARY 1, 1995, AND EACH JANUARY 1ST THEREAFTER.
(e) For the two [(2)] members who are appointed by the Charles
County Commissioners, [one (1) for a two-year term beginning on July 1, 1988;
thereafter, that member shall serve for a four-year term beginning on July 1, 1990. The
other member shall be appointed to a three-year term beginning on July 1, 1988;
thereafter, that member shall serve for a] four-year [term] TERMS beginning on July 1,
[1991] 1995 AND FOR FOUR-YEAR TERMS THEREAFTER.

A. The Charles County Volunteer Firemen's Association, at least once each
calendar year, shall conduct an inspection by a duly appointed committee of the
Association to ascertain whether each department's equipment and apparatus complies
with the standards of the Association, and the Association, on or before the 15th of
[August] OCTOBER of each year, shall submit a report, in writing, to the County
Commissioners and the Board of Fire and Rescue Commissioners stating whether each
department does or does not meet the standards of the Association. Each noncompliance
with the standards shall be documented by the Charles County Volunteer Firemen's
Association.

The Charles County Rescue Squad shall be included under the terms of §§ 54-1
through 54-8 of this Article. The County Commissioners of Charles County may lease or
transfer, upon terms satisfactory to the County Commissioners of Charles County,
ownership to the Charles County Rescue Squad of the building which it now occupies and
the equipment and apparatus it now uses. The County Commissioners shall provide the
squad with an advance of necessary operating funds from July 1, 1984, through September
30, 1984, to be reimbursed to the County Commissioners of Charles County by October
31, 1984.]
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 1994.
