Ch. 55                                      1994 LAWS OF MARYLAND

Article 66B - Zoning and Planning

4.07.                                       

(a)     (1) The local legislative body shall provide for the appointment of a board of
appeals.

(2)      The board of appeals consists of three or five members.

(3)      The terms of office of the members of the board are three years.

(4)      [They] THE MEMBERS OF THE BOARD shall be appointed by the local
executive, AND confirmed by the local legislative body[, and removable].

(5)      A MEMBER OF THE BOARD MAY BE REMOVED for cause, upon written
charges, and after A public hearing.

(6)      Vacancies shall be filled for the unexpired terms of any member whose
term becomes vacant.

(7)      Members of the board may receive [such] compensation as the local
legislative body deems appropriate.

(b)     (1) The local legislative body shall designate one alternate member for the
board of appeals who may be empowered to sit on the board in the absence of any
member of the board[; and when].

(2) WHEN the alternate is absent, the local legislative body may designate a
temporary alternate.

[The chairman of the Kent County board of appeals shall receive $1,250 annually
for expenses, and each member of the board shall receive $1,000 annually for expenses.]

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 1994.

Kent County - Alcoholic Beverages

FOR the purpose of prohibiting in Kent County a person under a certain age from
knowingly making any misrepresentation or false statement as to the person's age in
order to gain admission to an establishment holding a Class D beer, wine and liquor
license; providing for citations and penalties; including Kent County among those
counties in which certain approval is required before an alcoholic beverages
licensee may install certain equipment; specifying certain hours and days for sale;
