Ch. 46                                      1994 LAWS OF MARYLAND

the work done, at a reasonable price, and to assess the cost against the property of the
delinquent party, the same to become a lien against the property and to be collected in
the same manner as the county taxes are collected and turned over to the Treasurer of the
Village Council.

[SECTION 7. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That for the purpose of]

SECTION. 7. BORROWING OF MONEY.

FOR implementing any and all powers, duties and responsibilities with which the
Village Council is charged and empowered, the Village Council is authorized and
empowered to borrow money and otherwise contract indebtedness and obligate the
Village of North Chevy Chase in amounts not exceeding, in the aggregate at any time, ten
per centum of the assessed valuation of all property within the Village, and for these
purposes the Village of North Chevy Chase shall be and is hereby constituted a
corporation. The Village Council of North Chevy Chase is empowered to act for the
corporation without the councilmembers in any way being held individually or personally
liable.

[SECTION 8. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the Treasurer of the]

SECTION 8. TREASURER'S DUTIES.

(A)     THE Village Council of the Village of North Chevy Chase shall deposit all
funds coming into the Treasurer's possession in accordance with the requirements of law
for the deposit of county funds by the county Director of Finance or in such other bank as
may Be approved by the Village Council.

(B)     The Treasurer of the Village Council may not dispose of any of the funds
except by check duly signed by the Treasurer and countersigned by the chair or any other
officer of the Village Council acting as chair. Any acting chair shall be authorized to act
by resolution of the Village Council which must first be spread upon the minutes of the
Village Council.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 1994.

Somerset County - Conveyance of Property - Authorization                   

FOR the purpose of authorizing the County Commissioners of Somerset County to
transfer certain property to the Somerset County Developmental Center, Inc.;
requiring that the conveyance provide that the property reverts to the County
