(House Bill 281)

AN ACT concerning

Insurance Agents and Brokers

FOR the purpose of repealing altering the termination date of a certain enactment
relating to continuing education requirements for renewal of an agent's and
broker's certificate of qualification; and generally relating to continuing education
requirements for agents and brokers.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Chapter 609 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1989             

Section 2

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Chapter 609 of the Acts of 1989

{SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the changes made to
Article 48A, §§ 170 and 344E of the Code, as enacted by this Act and Chapter 516 of the
Acts of the General Assembly of 1986 as amended by this Act, shall remain effective for
a period of -4- 8 years and, at the end of June 30, 1993 1997, and with no further action
required by the General Assembly, the changes made by this Act and Chapter 516 of the
Acts of the General Assembly of 1986 as amended by this Act, to Article 48A, §§ 170 and
344E of the Code shall be abrogated and of no further force and effect.]

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1993.

AN ACT concerning

Workers' Compensation - Subsequent Injury Fund - Assessment

FOR the purpose of amending a provision that terminates an assessment made by the
Workers' Compensation Commission on certain awards; and generally relating to
contributions made by employers, insurers, and the Injured Workers' Insurance
Fund to the Subsequent Injury Fund.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Chapter 442 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1987, as amended by Chapter
