1993 LAWS OF MARYLAND.

(f) In cases of inconsistency between this subtitle and the provisions of [Article
64A, Merit System] DIVISION I OF THE STATE PERSONNEL ARTICLE THAT GOVERN
CLASSIFIED SERVICE EMPLOYEES, the provisions of this subtitle shall control as to all
matters relating to Natural Resources law enforcement officers.

(h) (3) A youth recruited for the Corps may not be hired through [State merit
system] mechanisms FOR THE EMPLOYMENT OF CLASSIFIED SERVICE EMPLOYEES IN
THE STATE PERSONNEL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM and may not earn any of the benefits
of [a merit system] A CLASSIFIED SERVICE employee.

8-201.

(d) (1) The Administration shall be adequately staffed and organized to carry
out the provisions of this title and at salaries provided in the State budget.

(2)      SUBJECT TO THE SECRETARY'S AUTHORITY AS PROVIDED IN TITLE 1
OF THIS ARTICLE, [The] THE Director appoints and removes the Administration's staff
in accordance with the provisions of the [Merit System Law, and subject to the
Secretary's authority as provided in Title 1 of this article] STATE PERSONNEL ARTICLE
THAT GOVERN CLASSIFIED SERVICE EMPLOYEES.

(3)      When the provisions of the [merit system] THE STATE PERSONNEL
ARTICLE provide for disciplinary or dismissal proceedings against CLASSIFIED SERVICE
employees to be brought by the appointing authority, the Director is the appointing
authority, unless the Secretary determines by written directive that the Secretary is the
appointing authority.

(4)      The Director supervises and controls the staff who perform duties the
Director prescribes.

8-723.

(c) Subject to available income, the Department may employ necessary personnel
subject to the [State merit system] PROVISIONS OF THE STATE PERSONNEL ARTICLE
THAT GOVERN CLASSIFIED SERVICE EMPLOYEES.

8-1909.

(a) Except as provided in subsection (b) of this section, in exercising its powers,
the Trust:

(1) Is exempt from the provisions of the State Finance and Procurement
Article, THE PROVISIONS OF DIVISION I OF THE STATE PERSONNEL ARTICLE THAT
GOVERN THE STATE PERSONNEL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM, and THE PROVISIONS OF
Articles [64A,] 73B[,] and 78A of the Code; and         

Article - State Finance and Procurement
