FLOATING HOLIDAYS. (A) DAILY STATE OPERATIONS. THE STATE GOVERNMENT MAINTAINS OPERATIONS ON THE DAYS WHEN THE (1) DEFENDER'S DAY; (2) GOOD FRIDAY; (3) LINCOLN'S BIRTHDAY; AND (4) MARYLAND DAY. (B) LEAVE ON ALTERNATIVE WORKDAY. AN EMPLOYEE WHO WORKS ON ANY OF THE HOLIDAYS LISTED IN SUBSECTION (C) APPROVAL REQUIRED. THE APPOINTING AUTHORITY SHALL APPROVE A REQUEST MADE UNDER (D) LIMITATION ON USE. (1) MAY NOT BE USED BEFORE THE HOLIDAY IS OBSERVED; AND (2) IS FORFEITED IF IT IS NOT USED BEFORE THAT HOLIDAY IS NEXT REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived without substantive Defined term: "Appointing authority" § 1-101 7-205.
