REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived without substantive
change from former Art. 64A, § 51A(b)(l).

The former term "reclassify" is deleted as unnecessary in this context in light
of the term "classify".

4-704. STATUS AFTER CLASSIFICATION.

AFTER POSITIONS IN THE ACQUIRED ENTITY ARE CLASSIFIED, EACH
RETAINED EMPLOYEE:

(1)      MAY CONTINUE WITHOUT AN EXAMINATION TO HOLD THE
POSITION IN WHICH THE EMPLOYEE IS THEN EMPLOYED; AND

(2)      HAS ALL THE RIGHTS OF THE CLASS TO WHICH THAT POSITION IS
ALLOCATED.

"Position" § 1-101

4-705. FILLING NEW AND VACANT POSITIONS.

IF A NEW POSITION IS CREATED IN AN ACQUIRED ENTITY OR AN ESTABLISHED
POSITION IN AN ACQUIRED ENTITY BECOMES VACANT, THE POSITION SHALL BE
FILLED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THIS TITLE.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived without substantive
change from former Art. 64A, § 51A(b)(3).

The former reference to "rules adopted under this article" is deleted as
unnecessary in light of the requirement that the positions be filled "in
accordance with this title".

TITLE 5. PART-TIME EMPLOYMENT.

5-101. "PART-TIME" DEFINED.

IN THIS TITLE, "PART-TIME" MEANS WORK ON AT LEAST 2 DAYS PER
WORKWEEK, FOR NOT LESS THAN 50% NOR MORE THAN 80% OF THE REGULAR
WORKWEEK.
