AN ORDINANCE concerning:

Police Service Retirement Plan

FOR the purpose of increasing the employee contribution to the pension; eliminating the
early retirement adjustment factor for employees with 20 or more years of County
service; providing that employees who elect to retire after completion of 20 years of
County service may not also receive the benefits of the retirement incentive
program; and providing that retirements after completion of 20 years of County
service may be suspended under specified circumstances.

BY repealing

Article 7 §§ 5-101(b) and (e), 5-108, and 5-206(b)

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments
Article 7, §§ 5-102(b) and 5-207

BY adding

Article 7, § 5-205(e)

BY renumbering

Article 7, § 5-101(c), (d), (f), (g), (h), (i), (j), (k), (1), (m), (n) and (o), to be §
5-101(b) through (m), respectively; and § 5-206(c) and (d) to be § 5-206(b)
and (c), respectively.

AN ORDINANCE concerning:

Tuition Reimbursement

FOR the purpose of increasing the percentage of employee direct cost eligible for tuition
reimbursement; requiring that tuition reimbursement be contingent on the
availability of funds; eliminating the requirement of full reimbursement for all
direct costs upon degree completion; requiring that employees receiving tuition
reimbursement remain in County service for a certain period following completion
of a course; and generally relating to tuition reimbursement.
