STATE ADMINISTRATIVE BOARD OF ELECTION LAWS
ANNAPOLIS, MARYLAND
Pursuant to the provisions of Section 23-11 of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland, the State Administrative Board of Election Laws does hereby certify that at
the General Election held in the State of Maryland on November 3, 1992, an Act known
as Chapter 203 of the Acts of 1992 was submitted to the voters of the State of Maryland
under the provisions of Article XIV of the Constitution of the State of Maryland, said Act
being as follows:
AN ACT concerning
Civil Proceeding - Size of Jury
FOR the purpose of providing that the parties of any civil proceeding in which the right
to a jury trial is preserved are entitled to a trial by jury of at least 6 jurors; providing
that the Constitution of Maryland does not prohibit a trial by jury of less than 12
jurors in a civil proceeding in which the right to a jury trial is preserved; and
submitting this amendment to the qualified voters of the State of Maryland for their
adoption or rejection.
And it is hereby certified that at said election, 1,184,312 votes were case for the
adoption of said Chapter 203 and 317,141 votes were cast against the adoption of said
Chapter 203, the said Chapter 203 of the Acts of 1992 has therefore been ratified.
