AN ACT concerning
Dental Hygienists - General Supervision
FOR the purpose of allowing a dental hygienist to practice dental hygiene under the
general supervision of a dentist in certain places authorizing the State Board of
Dental Examiners to waive the supervision requirements for dental hygienists under
certain circumstances; authorizing the Board to conduct certain hearings public
informational meetings and inspections under certain circumstances; requiring the
Board to maintain certain records; requiring certain changes to be reported to the
Board; requiring the Board to take certain actions on applications for waivers of
supervision requirements for dental hygienists within certain time frames; deeming the
acceptance of certain applications under certain circumstances; prohibiting a dental
hygienist from owning or operating a dental practice or a dental hygiene practice;
defining certain terms; and generally relating to dental hygienists, dentistry, and
general supervision.
