subject to certain limitations, the Board of Public Works; requiring certain contracts
for capital expenditures in connection with a University of Maryland System facility
to be reviewed by the University's Board of Regents and, subject to certain
limitations, to be approved by the Board of Public Works; requiring the Department
to make certain procurements for the University; altering the authority of the
Department of General Services to advise the University of Maryland System in
connection with certain engineering questions or matters concerning certain public
improvements;—requiring the University to submit periodic reports to the
Department regarding certain construction projects; specifying certain procedures
that arc applicable to the procurement of certain construction projects and services
of the University of Maryland System; requiring the Board of Public Works to make
a certain determination regarding the application of this Act; and generally relating
to the autonomous authority of the University of Maryland System with regard to
certain capital expenditures.
Higher Education - Public Improvement Projects
FOR the purpose of altering certain provisions relating to the Department of General Services'
authority over public improvement projects of the University of Maryland System and St.
Mary's College of Maryland; specifying certain responsibilities of the Department of
General Services, the University of Maryland System, and St. Mary's College of
Maryland with respect to public improvement projects; making certain provisions
applicable under certain circumstances; specifying certain procedures relating to public
improvement projects of the University of Maryland System and St. Mary's College of
Maryland; altering certain provisions relating to approval for certain capital
expenditures; requiring the Board of Public Works to make a certain determination
regarding the application of this Act; and generally relating to public improvements and
capital expenditures by the University of Maryland System and St. Mary's College of
Maryland.
