AN ACT concerning

Apprenticeship and Training Council - Program Evaluation

FOR the purpose of continuing the authority of the Apprenticeship and Training Council
until July 2004 in accordance with the Maryland Program Evaluation Act.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 83A - Department of Economic and Employment Development

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 83A - Department of Economic and Employment Development

3-402.               

Subject to the evaluation and reestablishment provisions of the Maryland Program
Evaluation Act, provisions of this subtitle creating the Apprenticeship and Training
Council and related to the regulation of apprentices and trainees are of no effect after
[July 1, 1994] JULY 1, 2004.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 1993.

AN ACT concerning

Division of Labor and Industry - Program Evaluation Wage and Hour Laws and
Maryland Occupational Safety and Health - Sunset Extension and Repeal

FOR the purpose of continuing the authority of the Division of Labor and Industry, and
the laws related to employment of minors, wages and hours, mediation and
arbitration of labor disputes, choice of bargaining representatives, occupational
safety and health, and a certain provision relating to strikebreakers until July 1,
2004 in accordance with the Maryland Program Evaluation Act Division of Labor
and Industry and the Occupational Health and Safety Advisory Board and the laws
regulating employment of minors, wages and hours, mediation or arbitration of labor
