(House Bill 487)

AN ACT concerning

Cecil County - Library Construction - Use of Bond Proceeds

FOR the purpose of amending Chapter 196 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1990
to expand the definition of "library facilities" in Cecil County so that the any excess
proceeds of authorized library construction bonds may be used for library
construction projects in Perryville and Port Deposit and to ensure that the library
branch in Rising Sun be of a certain minimum size.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Chapter 196 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1990
Section 1

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Chapter 196 of the Acts of 1990

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That, as used in this Act, the term "County" means the body politic and
corporate of the State of Maryland known as the County Commissioners of Cecil County,
and the term "library facilities" means the costs of site acquisition and construction of [a
public library branch in Rising Sun OF AT LEAST 5,000 SQUARE FEET] PUBLIC LIBRARY
BRANCHES IN RISING SUN, PERRYVILLE, OR PORT DEPOSIT
, including any related
architectural, financial, legal, planning, or engineering services; AND, IF EXCESS FUNDS
ARE AVAILABLE AFTER THE COMPLETION OF THE LIBRARY IN RISING SUN, THE
COSTS OF CONSTRUCTION, INCLUDING ANY ARCHITECTURAL, FINANCIAL, LEGAL,
PLANNING, OR ENGINEERING SERVICES, OF PUBLIC LIBRARY BRANCHES IN
PERRYVILLE OR PORT DEPOSIT.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1993.
