AN ACT concerning

Washington County - Sole Source Procurement

FOR the purpose of authorizing the Washington County Commissioners to award a
procurement contract without competition under certain circumstances; specifying
certain procedures and requirements concerning sole source procurements; and
generally relating to the authority of the Washington County Commissioners to
award certain procurement contracts.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 22 - Washington County

1-106.

(a) The County Commissioners or any employee of the county may not enter into
any contract of sale or purchase or any contract for any county work, project, or other
expenditure to which the county is a party where the amount involved in the contract
exceeds $15,000 without advertising for bids in 1 or more newspapers published in the
county. The publication of that advertisement shall appear at least once a week prior to
the date on which bids are to be filed.
