(2) A RETAILER OR SELLER HAS PROVIDED FOR THE COLLECTION,
RECYCLING, OR PROPER DISPOSAL OF USED MERCURIC OXIDE BATTERIES
THROUGH THE SALE TO A REFINER OR A REFINER'S AGENT AND THE RETAILER OR
SELLER HAS COMPLIED WITH ANY REQUIREMENT ESTABLISHED BY THE
DEPARTMENT TO IMPLEMENT § 6-901 OF THIS SUBTITLE.

A person who violates [§ 6-901(a)] ANY PROVISION of this subtitle is guilty of a
misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to a fine not exceeding $100 for each violation.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1994.

AN ACT concerning

Sales and Use Tax - Direct Payment Permits

FOR the purpose of continuing a provision allowing direct payment permits that
authorize certain vendors to make direct payment of sale and use tax due on
purchases by the vendor; providing that no further direct payment permits may be
authorized on or after a certain date; nullifying certain provisions of a certain prior
enactment; and generally relating to direct payment permits under the sales and use
tax.
