(3) (I) ON THE DEATH OF A RETIREE WHOSE DESIGNATED BENEFICIARY
HAS PREDECEASED THE RETIREE OR WHO HAS NOT SELECTED AN OPTION THE
PORTION OF THE ALLOWANCE THAT IS DUE FOR THE MONTH IN WHICH THE RETIREE
DIES SHALL BE PAID TO THE RETIREE'S ESTATE.
(II) ON THE DEATH OF A DESIGNATED BENEFICIARY WHO IS
RECEIVING PAYMENTS FOR LIFE, THE PORTION OF THE ALLOWANCE THAT IS DUE FOR
THE MONTH IN WHICH THE BENEFICIARY DIES SHALL BE PAID TO THE BENEFICIARY'S
ESTATE.
(4) IF A RETIREE ELECTS TO CHANGE A DESIGNATED BENEFICIARY, THE
ALLOWANCE SHALL BE RECOMPUTED ON THE VALUE OF THE BALANCE IN THE
RESERVES AT THE TIME THE CHANGE IN BENEFICIARY IS MADE A RETIREE WHO HAS
DESIGNATED A BENEFICIARY UNDER THIS SUBSECTION MAY NOT CHANGE THE
DESIGNATED BENEFICIARY.
(f) (H) An election required or permitted to be made under this subtitle by a
judge or a former judge is binding on the judge and on the judge's spouse.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 1993.

AN ACT concerning
Dental Hygienists - General Supervision
FOR the purpose of allowing a dental hygienist to practice dental hygiene under the
general supervision of a dentist in certain places authorizing the State Board of
Dental Examiners to waive the supervision requirements for dental hygienists under
certain circumstances; authorizing the Board to conduct certain public
informational meetings and inspections under certain circumstances; requiring the
Board to maintain certain records; requiring certain changes to be reported to the
Board; requiring the Board to take certain actions on applications for waivers of
supervision requirements for dental hygienists within certain time frames; deeming
the acceptance of certain applications under certain circumstances; prohibiting a
dental hygienist from owning or operating a dental practice or a dental hygiene
practice; defining certain terms; and generally relating to dental hygienists,
dentistry, and general supervision.
