Ch. 423                                     1993 LAWS OF MARYLAND

(2)     (i) Has graduated from an accredited college or university with a
baccalaureate degree in the physical, biological, or environmental sciences including a
minimum of 60 semester credit hours or the equivalent quarter credit hours of physical,
biological, or environmental sciences acceptable to the Board; and

(ii) Has obtained 12 months of experience in the field of
environmental health acceptable to the Board; or

(3)     (i) Has graduated from an accredited college or university with a
baccalaureate degree that includes a minimum of 30 semester credit hours or the
equivalent in quarter units of physical, biological, or environmental sciences acceptable to
the Board; and

(ii) Has obtained 24 months of experience in the field of
environmental health acceptable to the Board; or

(4)     Has graduated from an accredited college or university with a master's
degree in public health or environmental health sciences that includes:

(i) 30 semester units or 45 quarter units of physical, biological, or
environmental sciences acceptable to the Board; and

(ii) 3 months of internship approved by the Board if not previously
completed; or

(5)     (i) Has graduated from an accredited college or university with a
baccalaureate degree in a field other than physical, biological, or environmental science;
and

(ii) Has obtained 48 months of experience in the field of
environmental health acceptable to the Board; or

(6)     The applicant has obtained at least 10 years of experience in the field of
environmental health acceptable to the Board; or

(7)     (i) Has obtained at least 6 months experience in the field of
environmental health acceptable to the Board; and

(ii) Has passed the examination required under Section 11-304 of this
subtitle.

(d)] (B) An applicant [who begins employment as an environmental sanitarian
on or after July 1, 1985] shall be licensed by the Board if the applicant:

(1)     Qualifies for the examination required under Section 11-304 of this
subtitle; and

(2)     Takes and attains a passing score on the examination.
