(2) THE NURSE ADMINISTRATOR, REGISTERED NURSE, OR LICENSED
PRACTICAL NURSE IS ABLE TO VERIFY THAT THE LICENSEE REMAINS IN THE
TREATMENT PROGRAM UNTIL DISCHARGE; AND
[(2)] (3) The action or condition of the licensee has not caused injury to any
person while the licensee is practicing registered nursing or licensed practical nursing.

(e) UNLESS AUTHORIZED TO PRACTICE AS A NURSING GRADUATE UNDER
THIS TITLE, A PERSON MAY NOT USE THE WORDS "NURSING GRADUATE", THE
ABBREVIATION "NG", OR ANY OTHER TITLE, SYMBOL, ABBREVIATION, SIGN, CARD,
DEVICE, OR OTHER REPRESENTATION WITH THE INTENT TO REPRESENT THAT THE
PERSON PRACTICES AS A NURSING GRADUATE.
(F) An unlicensed individual who acts under § 8-102(b)(3) of this title may use
the word "nursing" together with another word to describe the occupation of the
individual, as in phrases such as "nursing aide" and "nursing assistant".
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 1993.

AN ACT concerning
State Board of Environmental Sanitarians
FOR the purpose of altering certain responsibilities of the State Board of Environmental
Sanitarians; phasing out certain provisions of law that exempt certain individuals
from a certain examination requirement as a condition of licensure; revising
provisions of law to clarify that an individual must be licensed in order to practice as
an environmental sanitarian; providing certain exceptions; requiring the Board to
adopt regulations that establish a sanitarian-in-training program that satisfies
certain requirements for experience; requiring a registered environmental
sanitarian to report knowledge of certain action or conditions to the Board and
providing the individual with certain immunity for making this report; continuing
the Board in accordance with the provisions of the Maryland Program Evaluation
Act by extending to a certain date the termination provision relating to the statutory
and regulatory authority of the Board and the regulation of environmental
sanitarians; altering certain definitions and defining certain terms; requiring a
certain report; and generally relating to the regulation of environmental sanitarians.
