SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Health Occupations

8-203.

(a) From among its members, the Board annually in [May] JULY shall elect a
president and a secretary.

8-204.

(d) The Board may:

(1)     Employ a staff in accordance with the State budget; [and]

(2)     Define the duties of its staff; AND

(3)      EMPLOY AN EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR WHO SHALL BE A REGISTERED
NURSE WITH A MINIMUM OF A MASTER'S DEGREE IN NURSING OR THE
EQUIVALENT, IN THE JUDGMENT OF THE BOARD, IN PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION
AND ADMINISTRATIVE EXPERIENCE.

(m) (1) Each nurse who requests to participate in the program shall agree to
cooperate with the individual rehabilitation program designed by a Committee.

(2)     Any failure to comply with the provisions of a rehabilitation program
may result in termination of the nurse's participation in the program.

(3)     The Committee shall report the name and license number of a nurse
who is expelled from the program for failure to comply with the conditions of the
program.

(4)      (I) THE PROGRAM SHALL TRANSFER TO THE BOARD ALL THE
RECORDS OF ANY NURSE EXPELLED FROM THE PROGRAM.
