1993 LAWS OF MARYLAND

(T)     THIS SECTION DOES NOT. APPLY IN ST. MARYS COUNTY.

(U)    IN SOMERSET COUNTY THE ANNUAL LICENSE FEE IS $35.

(V)    (1) THIS SECTION DOES NOT APPLY IN TALBOT COUNTY.

(2) SECTION 206 OF THIS ARTICLE PERMITS THE TALBOT COUNTY
COUNCIL TO PROVIDE FOR THE RETAIL ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE LAWS FOR THE
COUNTY WHICH, IF ENACTED, SUPERSEDE THE PROVISIONS OF THIS ARTICLE.

[(h)](W) In Washington County [,] the annual license, fee is $200.

[(h-1)](X) In Wicomico County [,] the annual fee for this license is $100.

[(i)] (Y) (1) In Worcester County the annual license fee [for this license] is
$150.

(2) The hours for sale shall be as provided in § 106(c) of this article. [In
Worcester County light wine means any fermented beverage not in excess of 22 percent of
alcohol by volume.]

[(k) This section shall not apply to Calvert, Caroline, Charles, Dorchester, Garrett,
Kent, Queen Anne's, St. Mary's, and Talbot Counties, in all of which jurisdictions such
licenses shall not be issued.]

DRAFTER'S NOTE:

This section is reorganized to place all counties and Baltimore City in a standard
alphabetical arrangement. The exclusionary subsection, (k), is repealed because each
county is mentioned in the body of the section, with jurisdictions that do not have a Class
C (beer and light wine) license so noted.

In Talbot County, the provisions of § 206 of this article permit the Talbot County
Council to enact retail alcoholic beverage laws for that county; thus, see subsection (v).

In Harford and Worcester Counties, the term "light wine" is defined in new § 12.

16.

(a) A Class D beer and light wine license shall be issued by the clerk of the circuit
court of the county in which the place of business is located. The license authorizes its
holder to keep for sale and to sell beer and light wines at retail, at the place described in
the license, for consumption on the premises or elsewhere. The license may not be issued
for any drugstore. The annual fee [for the license is $60, and] shall be [payable] PAID
to the clerk[,] before any license is issued, for distribution as provided in this article.

(b)     In Allegany County the annual license fee is $160.

(c)     (1) (I) In Anne Arundel County the annual license fee is $400.

(II) THIS LICENSE DOES NOT APPLY IN THE CITY OF ANNAPOLIS.
