1993 LAWS OF MARYLAND

(b) This subtitle does not apply to a law enforcement employee of the Maryland
Alcohol and Tobacco Tax Enforcement Unit of the State Comptroller's office.

7-201.

(a) Except as provided in subsection (b) of this section, this subtitle applies to:

(1)     all employees, including classified, unclassified, full-time, part-time,
permanent, and temporary employees, of all units in the executive[, judicial, and
legislative branches] BRANCH of State government, including any unit with an
independent personnel system; AND

(2)      ALL CLASSIFIED SERVICE EMPLOYEES OF THE DISTRICT COURT OF
MARYLAND.

7-701.

(a)     Except as provided in subsection (b) of this section, this subtitle applies to:

(1)      all employees, including classified, unclassified, full-time, part-time,
permanent, temporary, and contractual employees, of all units in the executive[, judicial,
and legislative branches] BRANCH of State government, including any unit with an
independent personnel system; AND

(2)      ALL CLASSIFIED SERVICE EMPLOYEES OF THE DISTRICT COURT OF
MARYLAND.

(b)     This subtitle does not apply to employees of a unit that must provide a service
continuously on a 7-day-a-week basis.

Article - State Government

2-1207.

(c)     The Legislative Policy Committee shall adopt guidelines that are not
inconsistent with law and that, for professional and nonprofessional employees of the
Department, govern hiring, tenure, promotion, OVERTIME COMPENSATION,
COMPENSATORY WORK FOR ABSENCES DUE TO RELIGIOUS BELIEFS, HOLIDAYS,
PART-TIME EMPLOYMENT, grievance procedures, and political activity.

(c) The Legislative Policy Committee shall adopt guidelines that are not
inconsistent with law and that, for professional and nonprofessional employees of the
Department, govern hiring, tenure, promotion, OVERTIME COMPENSATION,
COMPENSATORY WORK FOR ABSENCES DUE TO RELIGIOUS BELIEFS, HOLIDAYS,
PART-TIME EMPLOYMENT, grievance procedures, and political activity.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 1993.
