AN ACT concerning
Vehicle Laws - Drivers' Licenses - Alcohol Restrictions
FOR the purpose of requiring a court to order the imposition of the Motor Vehicle
Administration to impose a certain alcohol restriction for a certain period on a
licensee convicted of driving in violation of certain alcohol-related driving offenses
for a second or subsequent time; requiring the clerk of the court in which the
conviction was entered to provide certain notice to the Motor Vehicle
Administration; making stylistic changes; providing for the application of this Act;
and generally relating to the imposition of an alcohol restriction on certain licensees
convicted of any combination of two of more violations of certain alcohol-related
driving offenses.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

16-113.
(a) In addition to the vision and other restrictions provided for in this subtitle,
when it issues a driver's license, the Administration for good cause may impose on the
licensee:
(1) Any restrictions suitable to the licensee's driving ability with respect to
the type of special mechanical control devices required on motor vehicles that the
licensee may drive; and
(2) An alcohol restriction which prohibits the licensee from driving or
attempting to drive a motor vehicle while having alcohol in [his] THE LICENSEE'S blood;
