AN ACT concerning

Health Insurance - Coverage for Grandchildren

FOR the purpose of providing for the continuance of coverage in certain individual and
group health insurance policies for certain incapacitated grandchildren; requiring
certain individual and group health insurance policies to provide coverage for
certain newly born and newly adopted grandchildren; requiring certain individual
and group health insurance policies to provide that health insurance benefits shall
be available to grandchildren under certain circumstances; requiring certain
individual and group health insurance policies to offer family members' coverage
regardless of marital status and through a certain notice under certain
circumstances; permitting certain insurers to require certain proof regarding
grandchildren under certain circumstances; authorizing certain insurers to cover an
insured's or subscriber's dependent child, regardless of marital status, or the minor
child of the dependent child; imposing a certain notice requirement on certain
insurers and nonprofit health service plans; making certain provisions of this Act
applicable to health maintenance organizations; providing for the application of this
Act; and generally relating to health insurance coverage for grandchildren.
