(f) (1) A certificate filed under this section is effective for a period of 5 years
from the date the certificate is filed.
(2) [A] EVERY 5 YEARS FOLLOWING THE YEAR IN WHICH THE A
CERTIFICATE IS FILED OR RENEWED. A person who has filed OR RENEWED a
certificate under this section may renew the certificate by filing, within 6 months before
the end of the 5-year period, an application for renewal in the manner that the
Department requires by regulation.
(3) A renewal application extends the certificate for [3] 5 years from the
end of. the previous 5-year period.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 1993.

AN ACT concerning
Junk Dealers and - Scrap Metal Processors - Antique Dealers - Registration of
Description of Historic Markers and Plaques
FOR the purpose of requiring certain junk dealers and, scrap metal processors, and
antique dealers to register a description of any historic marker or plaque purchased
by the junk dealer or, scrap metal processor, or antique dealer in a certain manner;
requiring certain notification to the Maryland Historical Trust; prohibiting the sale
or other disposition of any historic marker or plaque for a certain period of time;
providing a certain penalty; defining e certain term terms; and generally relating to
the registration of descriptions of historic markers and plaques purchased by junk
dealers and, scrap metal processors, and antique dealers.
