DRAFTER'S NOTES TO TITLE 5, SUBTITLE 9 OF THE NATURAL
RESOURCES ARTICLE:

Error: Omitted word "Maryland" preceding "Office of Planning" created
confusion with local planning offices in §§ 5-903(c), 5-904(a)(1), 5-905(a),
(b), (c)(2) and (6)(iv)2, and (d)(1)(ii), and 5-906(b) and (e)(7) of the Natural
Resources Article.

Occurred: As a result of Ch. 540, Acts of 1989, which created the Office of
Planning.

Error: Obsolete term "State Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation and Land
Preservation Plan" replaced by "Maryland Land Preservation and Recreation
Plan" in §§ 5-901(h-1), 5-904(c)(4)(iv), 5-905(c)(2) and (d)(1)(ii), 5-906(b),
and 5-907 of the Natural Resources Article.

Occurred: As a result of administrative changes to reflect the scope of
Program Open Space.

Error: Obsolete term "local recreation and parks master plan" replaced by
"local land preservation and recreation plan" in §§ 5-904(c)(4)(iv) and
5-905(c)(2), (3), and (6)(iv)2 and (d)(1)(ii) and (iii).

Occurred: As a result of administrative changes made to conform local plans
to changes in the State plan.

5-1607.

(f) Except for land that is preserved under subsection (e) of this section, an
owner may place land that is forested, afforested, or reforested under this subtitle in the
forest conservation and management program under § 8-211 et [seq] SEQ. of the Tax -
Property Article or in a forest management plan prepared by a licensed forester and
approved by the local authority or the State. Reforestation shall be required when the
final regeneration harvest is complete or if determined to be necessary due to the lack of
adequate natural regeneration.

Error: Omitted period in § 5-1607(f) of the Natural Resources Article.

Occurred: Ch. 255, Acts of 1991. Correction by the Michie Company in the
1992 Cumulative Supplement to the 1989 Replacement Volume of the Natural
Resources Article is validated by this Act.

7-505.

(i) (2) However, the Bureau may not issue a strip mining permit on slopes of 20
degrees or more from the horizontal. Slope measurements shall be made every 200 feet
along the contour of the original premining natural slope beginning with the proposed
initial point of mining and including the proposed terminal point of mining. If any [200
