AN ACT concerning

Frederick County - Fire District Tax - Procedures

FOR the purpose of authorizing the County Commissioners of Frederick County to alter
a special district property tax rate for fire and rescue services in accordance with
certain procedures.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
.MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 11 - Frederick County

2-8-6.

(c) The board of county commissioners may:

(3) In accordance with [subsection] SUBSECTIONS (e) AND (F) of this
section; levy, collect, and expend a special district property tax for fire and rescue services
in the county; and

(F) (i) AFTER A SPECIAL TAXING DISTRICT HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED, THE
BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS MAY ALTER, BY ORDINANCE, THE AMOUNT OF
THE SPECIAL DISTRICT TAX IN ACCORDANCE WITH PARAGRAPH (2) OF THIS
SUBSECTION.

(2) (I) BEFORE ALTERING THE TAX, THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
SHALL HOLD A PUBLIC HEARING.

(II)     THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS SHALL PUBLISH NOTICE OF THE
PUBLIC HEARING AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK FOR TWO SUCCESSIVE WEEKS IN AT
LEAST ONE NEWSPAPER OF GENERAL CIRCULATION IN THE COUNTY.

(III)   THE NOTICE SHALL STATE:
