SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY. THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Education

21-305.

[(a)]The State Board of Education and the State Workers' Compensation
Commission shall administer jointly the program established in [this section and] §
21-306 of this subtitle
.

[(b) (1) There is an Injured Workers Rehabilitation Committee.

(2)     The Committee consists of six members, four of whom are appointed by
the Governor. Of the appointed members:

(i)      One shall be an employer;

(ii)    One shall be an employee;

  (iii)   One shall be a representative of a casualty insurance company; and

(iv)    One shall be a registered physician.

(3)     The Chairman of the State Workers' Compensation Commission and the
Director of the Division of Rehabilitation Services are ex officio members.

(4)     Each appointed member serves, for a term of 6 years, and until a
successor is appointed and qualifies. These terms are staggered as required by the terms
of the members serving on July 1, 1978.

(5)     A member appointed to fill a vacancy in an unexpired term serves only
for the remainder of that term and until a successor is appointed and qualifies.

(6)     Each member of the Committee:

(i) Serves without compensation; and

(ii) Is entitled to reimbursement for expenses from the State Workers'
Compensation Commission in accordance with the Standard State Travel Regulations.

(c) (1) The Governor shall designate a member of the Committee as its
chairman.

(2) The Committee may determine the time and place of its meetings and
may adopt rules for the conduct of its meetings. However, the Committee shall meet at
least once every 3 months.]
